Future Directions Committee

From time to time, you will be able to find information and resources as they relate to the future direction of our church.  We will keep you informed when new information becomes available.

HISTORY

​

The Future Directions Committee was created by our church Administrative Council in April 2022.  We were requested to discern if our church should consider disaffiliation from the United Methodist Church.  A recommendation to proceed with a disaffiliation vote was made to our Administrative Council and it was approved.  As a result, our church eventually voted to leave the denomination and the entire process was completed in December 2023.

In addition to helping guide our church through the disaffiliation process, our committee was also requested to discern and make a recommendation as to whether our church should remain independent or affiliate with another Wesleyan denomination.  That process began in January 2024 and is currently in progress.  We will eventually make a recommendation to the Administrative Council and, if approved, that recommendation will ultimately be voted on by the church membership, after a time of sharing of information.
