Our Theology of Giving
At Hartwell First Methodist Church, we believe that God is generous beyond measure. We faithfully give back to God as an act of worship and joyful obedience for the sake of HIS Kingdom.
"Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work."
2 Corinthians 9:7-8
Everything Belongs to God
All that we have comes from God. We are not the owners; We are the managers of what God has given to us.
"The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it..."
Psalm 24:1
God Gives Abundantly
God has blessed us beyond what we can imagine and we can experience this abundance of blessings because of who God is.
"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us..."
Ephesians 3:20
Giving is a Trust Issue
When you give back to God, you declare your trust in God. We believe that God will provide at all times.
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this...see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven..."
Malachi 3:10
Giving Comes From the Heart
Giving is not an obligation; giving is an opportunity. Our giving is an opportunity to express our love for God.
"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

God's Kingdom > My Kingdom
We are partnering with God to amplify His Kingdom so that everyone may know the name of Jesus.
"They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need."
